Impressions

When the owners looked to expand their company’s capacity, a vacant industrial building in their hometown offered the clearest path. Rather than relocate, they chose to stay – revitalising an abandoned production facility and strengthening the local community. The existing construction was adapted with care, leaving the load-bearing structure intact. On this basis, the new headquarters of ATG Zupan took shape.
The building is organised into two principal parts: a single-story warehouse hall with generous clear heights for storage and handling, and a two-story administration and commercial part with offices, meeting and seminar rooms, as well as showroom. Inside, a bright, neutral palette of greys prevails, selectively accented with colours from the corporate identity. This restraint places the company’s products and services at centre stage.
A green architectural element at the stair marks the threshold to the upper-floor office zone, where rooms for training, presentations, and seminars are located. The reception is characterised by round pendant luminaires whose form and colour echo the company logo, giving the entrance a clear and distinctive signature. Overall, the project respects the industrial structure while transforming it into a contemporary workplace and customer address – rooted in place, efficient in use, and ready for future growth.
At ground level the showroom forms the heart of the project. Large glazed surfaces open it towards the entrance hall, while flexible partition systems allow the display to be reconfigured. Visual contact between shop and warehouse offers customers a direct glimpse into operations. The warehouse itself is organised pragmatically to optimise logistics and meet daily demands efficiently. Externally, the building fits harmoniously into its setting despite its scale. A coarse broom-finish plaster façade picks up the neighbourhood’s materiality; fine textures break down the surface and add liveliness. The split between warehouse and office is reflected in the openings – broad service doors on one side, a rhythmic sequence of windows on the other. A pronounced entrance niche with a cantilevered canopy emphasises the main entrance. The project was realised largely with local firms, strengthening quality, identity, and community.
